How to Refer
We accept referrals via Medical Objects or via fax on (07) 3124 6170.
Once Prof Vela has reviewed the referral, our administration team will contact the patient to book an initial appointment.
Minimum Referral Workup
Prostate Concerns/Male Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms (LUTS)
• PSA blood test – ideally two tests at least 1 month apart
• Ultrasound renal tract – including post void residual
• Urine microscopy/culture/sensitivity (M/C/S)
Blood in the Urine (Hematuria)
• US renal tract (if microscopic hematuria)
• CT IVP (if macroscopic hematuria)
• Urine M/C/S
• Urine Cytology x3
Kidney Mass/Cyst
• US renal tract
• CT IVP
Testicular Mass/Lesion
• US scrotum
• Serum Tumor Markers – AFP, β hCG, LDH
Kidney Stones (renal or ureteric calculi)
• Plain X-ray KUB
• CT KUB or US renal tract
